ABOUT US

Stately Home Vacations was set up by Mark Chichester-Clark and Charles Hurt. Their love of the remarkable English countryside of Derbyshire and its houses is infectious and something they have in common, together with an Eton education.

By trade a filmmaker and a journalist respectively, they bring a lively slant to looking at the historical and cultural elements of their bespoke tours.

Charles Hurt has written a great deal about the English countryside and environmental matters. He lives at Casterne Hall one of the houses where guests of Stately Home Vacations dine. His knowledge of the area and of its history is extensive.

Mark Chichester-Clark, who lives with his family in a farmhouse near Casterne, studied art and architectural history at Cambridge University and is an artistic director of the Dovedale Arts Festival (10th-12th September 2010). He makes fund-raising and promotional films for companies and charities and manages homes available for holiday lets in the Peak District and in London.http://www.casterne.co.ukhttp://www.dovedalearts.co.ukhttp://www.dovedalearts.co.ukhttp://www.vicaragecottage.co.ukhttp://www.taborroad.co.ukhttp://livepage.apple.com/shapeimage_2_link_0shapeimage_2_link_1shapeimage_2_link_2shapeimage_2_link_3shapeimage_2_link_4
